ASSOCIAZIONE RiSvolta – The Colors of Rights
RiSvolta is an LGBT Association born in Matera, Basilicata (South of Italy) in 2016.
RiSvolta was created by 5 lesbian girls that had met in the Collettivodonnematera, the local femminist association. We have met there and together we have found the courage to create our rainbow group. RiSvolta is the first and only LGBT association in Matera and the second in Basilicata.
The RiSvolta Association is a non profit social promotion association that aims to build a society in which human and civil rights are recognized, promoted and guaranteed for all citizens, without discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or any other personal and social condition, in line with what is established by Article 3 of the Italian Constitution.
Our MISSION is to educate all the people that « well-being is for everybody, nobody must be left out» This concept is important for us because most of the people thinks that the homosexual or transexual’s lives are dark and sad, full only of sex e without love. So our strong message is direct to local straight people but also to gay and lesbian and trans people.
The activity of RiSvolta is focused on the rights of people, with particular regard to people who are often victims of discrimination and / or violence (women, LGBTQI people, migrants, disabled persons, etc.). The ultimate aim is to help creating a society in which each individual, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and other personal conditions, can live in harmony with others, without suffering any kind of discrimination by persons or institutions. This objective is pursued through the realization of projects, services and activities of awareness, education, support, training and counseling addressed to individuals, groups or communities.
